Karla Green’s passion to serve has now been highlighted in the Carroll County Times! Here’s an excerpt from the article:
The hunger statistics for Maryland really grabbed Green’s attention. According to Maryland Hunger Solutions, more than 27,000 children receive free or reduced meals in Carroll County.
In 2011, one in six Marylanders were unable to afford enough food and 21 percent of all households in the state struggled to put food on the table, despite Maryland being one of the wealthiest states in the nation.
“That is a huge number and it’s appalling,” Green said.
