This is an exciting announcement to start the year 2012! One of our own–from the LifePoint Church family–has just made an incredible career change. Why? Read his story below. I asked Brandon if he would share his story with us so we can partner with him in the ministry he is doing right here in the schools in our own community.
Please pray for Brandon as he follows God’s leading in this exciting and challenging direction!
Hi, my name is Brandon Johnson, I have attended and served at LifePoint Church for over 2 years. I attended Westminster High school, graduated in 2005 and went on to play lacrosse at Robert Morris University, and graduated in 2009. I have been an athlete my entire life, and sports was the avenue where my relationship with the Lord began. Going into my senior year of high school, 2004, I knew that I wanted to play lacrosse on the colligiate level. I tried out for many teams including the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ team. I ended up making the FCA team, playing lacrosse for them, and spending a week traveling to tournaments to play. This team changed my life and introduced me to prayer, worship, scripture and fellowship with other believers. As a result, my life is forever changed. Fast forward to this past summer when I went with some of my LifePoint family to Haiti on a missions trip. This is where I met Jimmy Page, a current FCA staff member and a regular at LifePoint. I shared with him my testimony and told him about my desk job as a sales support representative. He asked if I had any interest in joining FCA staff full-time. After months of prayer and reflection, the Lord has called me into this ministry to be used to change lives as mine was changed in the Summer of 2004.
Starting in January 2012 I will be in a full-time ministry role with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I will be responsible in leading, mentoring and growing our local high schools, colleges and recreation programs and their relationship with the FCA. Carroll County has been without an FCA representative for over 4 years. This area has great potential for reaching athletes and coaches. This is my calling in career and mission. We do not have to go far to find people who need to hear the Gospel and sports is a great way to reach lives for eternity.
I would like to invite you to join me on this journey that God has called me to. Please keep me in your prayers as well as the athletes and coaches in the Carroll County area. All of our financial support comes from volunteers like you who partner with us. I am in the process of raising my support, and I hope you will prayerfully consider supporting me. I want you to know that when you give you are changing lives and making it possible for athletes to hear the Good News. Please visit centralmdfca.org for more information. You can find my name under the “donate” tab.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like to learn more about the role that I will be playing with the FCA,
Thank you and God Bless.

Wow! What a wonderful response of generosity from you, our church family! Remember Joe’s sermons on “Thank-full”? How can we begin to express our gratitude to God our Father? We challenged you to do it by being a presence in our community through sharing out of the overflow of your full hearts.
And you did!
You’ll hear a little more about it this weekend at church, but just to give you a “sneak peek”…you donated well over 3000 items to people in need in and around our community. The local ministries have come by the church office during the week to pick up the donations. They have been so thankful and wanted us to share their thanks with you.
And lets not forget the volunteers that made this go so smoothly! You know, it takes a lot of volunteers to do all the events at LifePoint Church. We had over 70 volunteers helping in many different ways to make Presence a great way to share with people in need this Christmas. And they had a blast doing it! We LOVE our volunteers.
Thank you for giving this Christmas! You can continue supporting these local ministries throughout the year. Check out our “Local Partners” page for more info.
